I finally reached the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, a beautiful Hindu temple in Robbinsville, New Jersey. The first time I came, they were still closed due to COVID-19, which was disappointing since I had hoped to visit. This time, I called before driving over an hour and asked if visitors were allowed back. They were back open and ready for the public.

I dream of visiting Cambodia one day to experience its beautiful architecture and rich history, but until then, I will stay local. 

The temple is a spiritual oasis for Hindus and non-Hindus alike. It was built in 2014 and is the largest Hindu temple in the United States. The temple is an impressive 42,000 square feet and was built with 6,000 tons of Italian Carrara marble and Turkish Limestone.

Things to Know Before Your Visit

I advise that you visit BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir and READ THEIR POLICY BEFORE YOUR VISIT.

There is a strict dress code that should be respected during your visit. Tops must cover the shoulders, back, chest, navel, and upper arms. Legwear must be at least below knee length. Visitors not having an appropriate dress code are requested to wear wraps provided at the Mandir. Footwear must be removed before entering any of the Mandir buildings. Shoe racks are provided within the complex.
