H.E.A.L. Framework™

Sometimes Growth Requires Healing

The journey toward wellness and purpose is not always a straight path. Some seasons ask you to slow down, acknowledge what you’ve experienced, notice what you’re feeling, and give yourself space to heal. The H.E.A.L. Framework™ is a companion to the K.E.Y. Framework™ and supports the emotional side of growth. It is not about rushing yourself or trying to “get over” something. It is about meeting yourself where you are and recognizing that healing can also be part of moving forward.

H — Honor Where You Are

You do not have to pretend you are somewhere you’re not. Honor what you’re experiencing today without judging yourself for how quickly or slowly you’re moving through it. Healing often begins when you acknowledge the truth of where you are.

Reflection:

What do I need to acknowledge about where I am today?

E — Embrace Your Emotions

Your emotions can offer insight into what matters to you and what you’re experiencing. Instead of ignoring or suppressing them, give yourself room to recognize what you feel. You do not have to solve every emotion. Sometimes acknowledging it is enough.

Reflection:

What have I been feeling that I haven’t allowed myself to acknowledge?

A — Accept What You Cannot Change

Acceptance does not mean approving of everything that has happened. It means recognizing that some things cannot be rewritten. You cannot change yesterday, but you can choose where to place your energy today. Acceptance helps you redirect your attention toward the choices, boundaries, relationships, and possibilities that remain within your control.

Reflection:

What am I still trying to change that is no longer mine to change?

L — Live Forward

Moving forward does not require forgetting where you’ve been. You can carry the lessons without carrying the weight. Live Forward means honoring how far you’ve come while allowing yourself to imagine joy, connection, meaning, discovery, and new experiences ahead. Your past can shape your story without deciding everything that comes next.

Reflection:

What would moving forward look like for me now?

Journaling Prompts:

How to Use These Prompts

  • Start small. One honest prompt is worth more than ten rushed ones.
  • Write without editing. Let the first true answer come before the polished one.
  • Revisit, don’t rush. Some prompts will open something up that needs more than one sitting — that’s normal.
  • Pair with support. If a prompt brings up something heavier than expected, that’s a good moment to bring it into coaching rather than working through it alone.

Use these prompts as part of your Know Yourself practice or whenever you feel H.E.A.L. is asking you to slow down and pay attention to what’s beneath the surface. There’s no need to do them all at once. Choose one, sit with it honestly, and let your answer be a starting point rather than a final word.

H.E.A.L.: Honoring and Moving Forward

  • Honor Where You Are — What do I need to acknowledge about how I’m really doing right now, without judgment?
  • Embrace Your Emotions — What emotion have I been minimizing lately, and what would it mean to simply let myself feel it?
  • Accept What You Cannot Change — What pattern or past choice am I still fighting instead of accepting?
  • Live Forward — What is one lesson from this reflection I want to carry with me, rather than repeat?

When You Need Additional Support

Some experiences require more support than a coach, journal, workshop, or wellness resource can provide. Wellness coaching can help with self‑awareness, healthy habits, personal growth, and lifestyle change, but it is not a replacement for therapy, counseling, medical care, diagnosis, or mental‑health treatment.

If you’re facing ongoing emotional distress, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship challenges, or another mental‑health concern.

Consider speaking with a licensed mental‑health professional. Reaching out for support can be an important way to care for yourself.
