Spring Break

Spring Break is approaching for some schools, and the first thing some parents are thinking is, “What are we going to do with the kids?” While some families will be going on vacation abroad. I want to show you the great places you can visit without a plane ticket. There are so many great activities indoors and outdoors. Fun day trips by car, train, or ferry will be exciting.

A trip to New Jersey, New York City, or Philadelphia will fill your day with amazing museums, beautiful botanical gardens, and new additions at the zoos to meet. Some of these places will have a food court or small concession stands. To save money, take your own bagged lunch with sandwiches, fruits, snacks, and beverages. This will save you time with lines and save money in your wallet.

Be sure to always check the websites before visiting your destination for any changes in admission prices and opening and closing times. Some Spring Break school vacations land on Good Friday. Be sure to check the website for holiday hours. Visiting the website may also offer savings on certain days of the week. My favorite place to find deals is Groupon! Enjoy and take photos of your fun time with the family.ย

MARS Chocolate Factory

Take a photo with gigantic M&M’s statues outside the MARS Chocolate Factory. The factory is located at 800 County Rd 517, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. We stumbled upon this while driving from the Orchard View Lavender Farm, and my daughter said, “Can we go there?” I pulled into the parking lot, and we took some pictures. Another family was there as well. I checked and saw that they do not give tours at this factory. If you are in the area, you will smell the delicious scent of chocolate.ย
